Pattern has a special way of becoming part of our lives. We remember it from childhood, collect it, pass it down and weave it into the places, memories and experiences that shape us.

I’m Alexia, the artist and designer behind Ink & Wren. My work begins with putting ink to paper, drawing inspiration from place, my own memories of story and pattern and the nature that surrounds me. Alongside my creative studio, I’m restoring a 325-year-old cottage in the English countryside. Sunday Cottage has become both a living project and a constant source of inspiration. From the worn grain of old beams to wildflowers along brambled hedgerows, I’m drawn to things that carry a sense of history, character and story.

My background spans theatre, music and a corporate career in product development, which has shaped the way I think about creativity, process and craftsmanship. I’m fascinated by the journey from an initial idea to something that becomes part of everyday life, bringing imagination and thoughtful design together.

There is something special about seeing a drawing become a pattern, and then seeing that pattern take on a life of its own, whether as wallpaper, on a piece of fabric or within a beautifully made product. It becomes something to live with, enjoy, remember and perhaps pass on.
