About Ink & Wren

Artist sketching hand-drawn floral and leaf patterns with ink.

Hello, I’m Alexia — a surface pattern designer inspired by my surroundings and how design can help to tell the story of home.

Primarily using dip pen and ink, gouache and watercolour, I create hand-drawn wallpaper, textiles and paper goods rooted in observation and storytelling. Alongside my creative studio, I am restoring a 300-year-old cottage, which has become both a living project and a source of inspiration. From the worn grain of old beams to wildflowers along brambled hedgerows, my work begins with something real, imperfect and full of history.

With a background in theatre and product design, I’m drawn to narrative and craftsmanship, and how these can be expressed through hand-drawn pattern. Collections appear on fabric, wallpaper and paper goods, created for homes and brands that value heritage, story and the natural world.

Stories of home and nature, translated into pattern.
